The LongHorn is a break action, long range pistol. It is loud and needs to be reloaded after each shot, making it unsuitable for close range personal protection.
Overview
The LongHorn is a single-shot handgun chambered for .308 Winchester Rounds. The longhorn comes with or without a Pistol Scope that cannot be zeroed since 0.57. As a result, long range fights with it are hard. However, this gun performs very well at medium distance, and is a good weapon to have in combination with a close-range weapon such as a shotgun or sub-machine gun, since it can be stored in the player's inventory.

Weapon attachments are any accessories or devices that attach to a firearm in order to add, improve or modify the weapon's functionality or performance. In DayZ Standalone these attachments take the form of sights/optics, handguards, buttstocks, muzzle devices, barrel and handguard attachments and gun wraps.

- The LongHorn is based on the Thompson/Center Contender G2, a break-action single-shot pistol produced by Thompson/Center Arms. It was offered through various retailers and dealers chambered in dozens of calibers, such as .357 Magnum and .223. Interestingly, the Thompson/Center Contender is not actually available in .308 Winchester or 7.62x54mmR. However, due to the nature of the Contender, it is feasible that someone would convert it to .308 or 7.62x54.
- The LongHorn was added to the game proper in the 0.47 update.
- Until 0.55, the LongHorn was chambered in 7.62x51mm, which was replaced in the game by .308 and 7.62x54mmR.
- Since the 0.57 update, it's possible to detach the Pistol Scope, and also to attach the Crossbow Holosight or use the gun without any optics at all.
