And oh, the JPG file format mostly suffers from digital compression. So, choosing BMP in first row might be the perfect solution. But maybe I'm taking this a bit to serious ;)

:I will keep that suggestion in mind next time I take a shot of something :) It makes sense. As for the file format, I'm uploading the raw JPG being generated by Steam when you take a screenshot. I don't believe there is a way to have it save as a BMP, but I'll look into it if it will help quality. --[[User:Tatanko|Tatanko]] ([[User talk:Tatanko|talk]]) 15:27, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

Revision as of 15:27, 3 February 2015

pls use the location template for new cities etc--TheBlackDracula (talk) 15:51, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

of course is it cool that you add new stuff, but it makes it easier for other editors to add to your pages. also you already used a template on the canned peaches, so there should be no problem doing the same with locations--TheBlackDracula (talk)

again pls use the location template--TheBlackDracula (talk)

i and the location template dont use the gmap function (because i dont like it. its way to unstable and outdated). for the map i use the izurvive map and sniping tool to make a little map-pic--TheBlackDracula (talk) 17:03, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

Template:Location and example articel: Chernaya Polana--TheBlackDracula (talk) 20:22, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

pls use only the official russian translation. some locations dont have one (because their name are unofficial or not on the map)--TheBlackDracula (talk) 15:34, 10 April 2014 (UTC)

if you want to replace a picture, use the upload new version function. that way we dont get so many unused pics. the problem with your russian translations is, that there is a official source for those (the map) and we should use it, but some locations arent at the moment on this source, but may come in the future. we should therefore wait until they have an official name and translation.--TheBlackDracula (talk)

also you dont need to use the mod notice template, unless you want to create the mod version later/there is already a mod version of the article. if neither are the case its simple creating wanted links on the wanted pages special page and im trying to clean that up ^^

pls dont forget the categories on new pics--TheBlackDracula (talk) 21:20, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Status Effects

Hi, I seen you have edited on the Status Effects page in the past and is currently active. I wonder can help me breakdown the page tables e.g. what is the meaning of the top most left cell?

  • In Hydration/ thirst it set to Hydration
  • In Health/Sick is set to Health and Stomach
  • In Injuries/Broken Bones it is set to Health

and I can't find the common denominator here ... --AnotherArk (talk) 19:38, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

Interface Images

Thanks for uploading the Interface Images. Do you know if the sick yellow\orange\red status images is implemented in the current version Dayz SA version, if so any chance you can upload it as well? --AnotherArk (talk) 00:47, 3 October 2014 (UTC)

Guide to Screenshots

Hi, I added some general rules to the DayZ:Manual of Style concerning images, including a link to your great guide to screenshots (I wasn't sure if you want to added it here as help article). I would appreciate if you can lend me some of your experience and go over the guideline and see if there are any issues with it. If you spot anything either correct it note it on the discussion tab there where others who are more involved in this can comment. --AnotherArk (talk) 05:50, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

I'll give it a look, sure. I actually already learned a few things glancing over it (I didn't know the color code!) and I'm sure there's more I could add once I see what all is in place already. I probably would have added my guide already, but I had no idea we had a resource available like the Style Guide. Thanks for adding it. --Tatanko (talk) 10:41, 24 October 2014 (UTC)

deleting images

you can use the delete template to mark old images--TheBlackDracula (talk)

I don't know how it works

I'm not sure if i'm doing this right, it's my first time. And about the green barracks, i believe i have deleted it, but i'm not sure. I saw a link to the page green barracks, which didn't exist, so i figure i'd have a go at making a page. I didn't know half of what i was doing anyway :D - UnicornNoob

Saw you posted sth. or send me a message. I tried around for minutes how to reply, but can't find anything better. Kinda confusing interface here. I can't find that supposed "Image Improvement Needed category" - so I would like to contribute if possible. Thanks!

Screen suggestion

Hi again. Saw you uploaded a bunch of new images to edit for the wiki. Thanks! Can I give you just a small suggestion? The better the original is, the easier and less time taking I can edit them. For example: If you have a bright item (like a beige, white, etc.) a darker background would be nice. I mostly going into First person and look straight against a wall. And of course, if you have a dark item (like black, etc.) a bright background is perfect. I mostly looking into sky in first person. So it's way less time taking for edit the items out. Thank you for the work!

And oh, the JPG file format mostly suffers from digital compression. So, choosing BMP in first row might be the perfect solution. But maybe I'm taking this a bit to serious ;)
