: Funny taste in your mouth is food poisoning, you probably ate the wrong barriers (Blue iirc). It has been implemented for a while, you might want to check Health WIP. Since updated 0.50, you might also incure infection in some case but iirc it only relevant to Raw\rotten meat\fish and Human meat of any kind, including cooked. Its new ingame and caused by sticking yourself up. It causes blood and health loss and has 5~6 phases.--Basinox (talk) 11:06, 29 November 2014 (UTC)

: Wound Infections has been reimplemented in the new experimental patch (0.51). Currently you can only get it when you stich yourself up with the sewing or leather sewing kit. Negative effects seems to be somewhat between food poisoning and disinfctant poisoning in severity. Alcohol tincture and antibiotics cure it. We should add thirst and hunger and link thirst to tokens like Wells!? - VariousArtist 06:38, 23 May 2012 (MDT)

True, although I don't understand the link to Wells... There are multiple ways to "treat" thirst: drink from soda or drink from canteen. The latter can be filled through a Well, but it won't stop being thirst by itself...
The same for hunger; you can stop being hungry by eating canned food or cooked meat, not by looting a supermarket ;) - Grezvany13 07:16, 23 May 2012 (MDT)

Also some pictures of the effects described would be nice. Again, I'd do it myself but I'm waiting for the Steam summer sale because I am a cheap bastard. Will be watching this page to not forget about it once I've bought the game ( and hopefully get upload rights ) so if it's not added by then, I'll do it - The Upright Man (talk) 02:28, 30 June 2012 (MST)

Anyone know the new percentage chance for broken bones from the new 1.7.2.3 patch? Twitchcat13 (talk) 19:30, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Infection

Infection also causes blood loss.

Apparently it is 3 blood loss per tick down to 6000 blood. Apparently the limit was changed to 10k then back to 6k. The info just comes from what I have observed and youtube videos so it needs proper confirmation.

- I can confirm from ingame experience the 3 blood per tick loss rate and that the 10k limit wasn't the case when I had the infection. Don't know what it is now, but I believe it's -3/tick to limit of 6k. Twitchcat13 (talk) 11:37, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

Inconsistency: On the page for 'Blood' it says the chance to fall unconcious starts below 5000 blood, but on the Unconcious section under the 'Status Effects' page, it says 3000. Which is correct?

The 3000 is correct Nuke (talk) 16:31, 19 August 2012 (UTC)

Hey, don't know what this is, but after eating a piece of rotten fruit I got the message: "I have a funny taste in your mouth" like any other status effect. I don't know the long-term causes of this since I died shortly thereafter. Of the three pieces of rotten fruit that I've eaten, only one has ever caused this. Might want to add it to status effects. is shock on this page for the mod? seems like it doesn't apply to SA

There is no entry on how an infection occurs and how to treat it. My friend and I got infected and we could not find an answer on this wiki and had to go elsewhere for a cure. I think applying alcohol tincture andeating vitamins and taking antibiotics will help cure the infection. Orange Juice (Talk) 2:09 28 November 2014 (UTC)

i think that was only recently added (50 something), but as far as i know there arent any negative effects. what were your symptons? could it have been sickness? coughing, blood/health decrease? what exactly did you use for treatment?--TheBlackDracula (talk)

unconcious

Doesn't take away your hearing ability

I haven't noticed (nor found a reliable source) going unconcious before reaching extremely low blood (guessing the 500 blood limit), or from taking damage (shock). The 3k limit also seemed rather harsh, since this would be 60% of your maximum blood. Don't know if zombies can knock you unconcious anymore, but the 9k blood limit previously listed is certainly wrong, as you only have 5k in SA. Removing these items, adding the 500 blood limit, and adding shock as cause of unconciousness. Please post a source if you revert. Healthy, Hydrated, Energized

Do you think this page is the place for these positive stats effects? I can't find any real consolidated description of how to get them elsewhere on the wiki, and information around the net is hazy at best.

missing entries?

Shouldn't the hyperthermia status be mentioned as well? Temperature. --AnotherArk (talk) 20:12, 27 September 2014 (UTC)

sure, add a temperature part under weather effects if you want--TheBlackDracula (talk)
