Zombie light awareness[]

Can someone specify if the zombies can see the flashlight beam, please? I'd test it myself but I haven't yet bought the game. The Upright Man 07:27, 19 June 2012 (MDT)

As far as i have found out then they do not see the light beam! (so 99% sure! - arma2 engine is Very bad at handling dynamic lights) - sEi (Talk) 07:46, 19 June 2012 (MDT)
As far as I know, zombies can't see the light source itself. They do however see you due the "reflection" of the light and therefor your visibility is increased, which attracts zeds. I guess checking the visibility meter + checking the visibility of the zeds (at source code) should give some valid numbers. - Grezvany13 07:52, 19 June 2012 (MDT)
I looked in the code and it seems, that just Road Flares and Fireplaces enlight the player in the eyes of the zombies. The visibility value is modified by (dayz_code\compile\player.checkStealth.sqf):
  1. Day/Night
  2. Standing/Kneeling/Prone
  3. Road Flare / Fire
  4. Underground (grass/concrete/forest/street)
  5. Speed
