“The AUG, a bullpup automatic rifle, is a selective fire weapon with a conventional gas piston operated action that fires from a closed bolt. It can be quickly adapted to a wide variety of roles with the change of the barrel to a desired length and profile, the AUG is a modular configuration rifle that employs a high level of polymer and advanced alloy components. — In-game description
The Steyr AUG Automatic Rifle (Armee-Universal-Gewehr - "universal army rifle"), pronounced Schteyer ay-yu-gee, is an Austrian-developed and manufactured bullpup assault rifle chambered for the intermediate 5.56x45mm round. Introduced in 1977, the AUG A1 features a built-in 1.5x magnification scope by Swarovski Optik. It features a range finding reticle. The receiver of the rifle is mounted into a polymer body housing. In DayZ, the gun is similar to the M4A1 but without the variety of attachments.
The dispersion of the Steyr AUG Automatic Rifle is equal to an M4-A1 with no attachments, zeroing is fixed to 300m, and it has relatively high recoil. It is not yet fully implemented.
Weapon attachments are any accessories or devices that attach to a firearm in order to add, improve or modify the weapon's functionality or performance. In DayZ Standalone these attachments take the form of sights/optics, handguards, buttstocks, muzzle devices, barrel and handguard attachments and gun wraps.
