The Stab Vest is a vest in DayZ Standalone and was worn by the Chernarus Police Department before the outbreak. It consists of several layers of woven para-aramid fibers which are capable of reducing the impact of knife attacks.
This is the only vest item currently in the game that provides a reduction in bleed chance. Coupled with the Riders Jacket, it also provides excellent protection against melee attacks. The vest itself is ineffective protection against ballistic attacks, particularly intermediate cartridges.
