A pelagic fish, living in salty waters. In-game description
The Mackerel is an animal in DayZ living in the Green Sea that forms the coast of Chernarus. It can be caught while fishing in the ocean.
Much like carp, sardines and bitterlings, this fish can be caught and used as source of food. It is strongly advised not to consume mackerel raw as it may result in salmonellosis.
Harvesting
Before the Mackerel can be cooked, it needs to be gutted and prepared into 2 x mackerel fillets using a knife.
