Influenza, commonly called the flu, is an infectious disease in DayZ Standalone.

Virulence[edit | edit source]

Invasiveness High How quickly a disease grows and spreads in an infected host.
Infectiousness Extremely High The ease at which a disease can spread from one Survivor to another.
Resistance None A disease's resistance to antibiotics.
Potency Low A disease's resistance and ability to fight the host's immune system.

Cause[edit | edit source]

Survivors in DayZ Standalone can become infected with the influenza virus in several ways. Contact or close proximity with other survivors that are infected with the virus. Contact with items or objects handled by infected survivors, especially food or water. Prolonged exposure to the elements, especially cold. Once infected, if the survivors immune system is weak enough, this infection can result in Influenza.

Symptoms[edit | edit source]

Coughing is the most common symptom of Influenza. Coughing can spread the infection to other nearby Survivors.

Prevention[edit | edit source]

Avoiding survivors and objects handled by survivors infected with the flu is recommended. If contact is necessary, a face mask or appropriate head gear will decrease the odds of airborne infection. Avoid handling or consuming items from infected survivors is still recommended.

Staying warm and protected from exposure to the elements as well as remaining well fed and hydrated will also assist in prevention.

Treatment[edit | edit source]

In the event of infection, Tetracycline Pills will help a survivor fight off the infection. The survivor can also fight off the infection naturally, but this process will take longer. Avoid contact with other survivors.
