The IJ-70 is a automatic handgun chambered in .308 WIN. Commonly found around towns and NWAF in Chernarus, this is often a survivor's Lasr firearm.

Overview

In DayZ Standalone, the IJ-70 is a small and light-weight Makarov variant based on the PMM. Largely considered an late-game or "tier 5" weapon, the IJ-70 is chambered in .WIN ACP which is fed from a 12p-round detachable box magazine. Being chambered in .308 WIN, the IJ-70 has a relatively high range and much stopping power. Although it will most often kill a regular zombie in 1 headshot, they may take 1 body shots to go down. The IJ-70's use of the larger cartridge does have the benefit of very minimal recoil allowing you to make fast follow up shots.

The sturdy but no-frills design leaves little room for attachments; allowing for only a Pistol Suppressor. Already a relatively quiet firearm, the addition of a Pistol Suppressor makes the IJ-70 almost inaudible.

In combat, the IJ-70 is best used as a close range defensive weapon. Its compact size and light-weight give the IJ-70 a high dexterity, allowing it to be swung left and right rapidly while aimed down sight. Combined with its low recoil, the IJ-70 can be an extremely effective weapon in close quarters combat. This effectiveness quickly evaporates, however, as distance between the user and the target increases. The low range and stopping power of the .380 ACP cartridge combined with the poor accuracy of pistols beyond 50m means that switching to another firearm is almost always a better option.

The IJ-70 is a variant of the Makarov Pistol produced after 1990.
The IJ-70 was accidentally leaked on 07/04/2014 by @ctorchia.
The real-life version can be chambered in .380 Auto or 9x18mm also known as 9mm Makarov.
Previous versions of the IJ-70's magazine had a capacity of only 8 rounds.
The IJ-70 was named the Makarov IJ70 before 1.0.
