Plastic Bottle Suppressor
“Semi-automatic pistol, fed from a detachable magazine. Produced in large quantities. Uses standard .380 Auto rounds. — In-game description
The IJ-70 is a semi-automatic handgun chambered in .380 ACP. Commonly found around towns and villages in Chernarus, this is often a survivor's first firearm.
In DayZ Standalone, the IJ-70 is a small and light-weight Makarov variant based on the PMM. Largely considered an early-game or "tier 1" weapon, the IJ-70 is chambered in .380 ACP which is fed from a 12-round detachable box magazine. Being chambered in .380 ACP, the IJ-70 has a relatively low range and not much stopping power. Although it will most often kill a regular zombie in 1 headshot, they may take several body shots to go down. The IJ-70's use of the smaller cartridge does have the benefit of very minimal recoil allowing you to make fast follow up shots.
The sturdy but no-frills design leaves little room for attachments; allowing for only a Pistol Suppressor. Already a relatively quiet firearm, the addition of a Pistol Suppressor makes the IJ-70 almost inaudible.
In combat, the IJ-70 is best used as a close range defensive weapon. Its compact size and light-weight give the IJ-70 a high dexterity, allowing it to be swung left and right rapidly while aimed down sight. Combined with its low recoil, the IJ-70 can be an extremely effective weapon in close quarters combat. This effectiveness quickly evaporates, however, as distance between the user and the target increases. The low range and stopping power of the .380 ACP cartridge combined with the poor accuracy of pistols beyond 50m means that switching to another firearm is almost always a better option.
Weapon attachments are any accessories or devices that attach to a firearm in order to add, improve or modify the weapon's functionality or performance. In DayZ Standalone these attachments take the form of sights/optics, handguards, buttstocks, muzzle devices, barrel and handguard attachments and gun wraps.
