The Construction Light is a type of equipment in DayZ.
Usage[ | ]
There are 3 main areas of interaction with the Construction Light:
- The cable that connects to the power source
- The on/off button
- The handle to place or re-position the Construction Light
To make use of the Construction Light you need a power source like the power generator.
The Construction Light by itself requires no other items or tools to be placed/attached to a power system.
The Construction Light can be connected directly to a power generator, up to 5 meters away.
To place them further away from a generator you will need a cable reel.
To connect a Construction Light to a power generator, simply hold it in your hands and look at a power generator. An option to connect should show up.
Then place down the Construction Light to a suitable location.
You can see if it is within range of the power generator by looking at the wire along the handle when you are in placement mode.
If the wire goes into the ground, it is close enough. If it still looks rolled up, then it is too far. In the gallery below and in the video demonstration you will see examples of this.
Tip: You can connect a car battery with metal wire to a construction light to power it for a limited time if you want lights, but not the harsh sound of a generator.
