The Burlap Sack is a type of equipment in DayZ Standalone. It is used to craft the Burlap Courier Bag and Burlap Backpack.
The sack can also be used for blinding and reducing the hearing of another player by placing the bag directly on their head (as a hat). Because of this, bandits often use these along with Handcuffs to impair the senses and abilities of unsuspecting players and hostages.
