The German-made Heckler & Koch SG5-K is a submachine gun in the DayZ Standalone.
A common misbelief is that the firearm and its magazines only spawn at Helicopter Crash Sites - this is incorrect, they can only be found inside military prisons, police station buildings, as well as in and on police cars. Look closely inside of the police stations, they may be hard to see and may spawn beneath books under desks.
Strategy
The SG5-K takes up a 4x3 space in your inventory. Most backpacks and the high capacity vests will allow you to carry it concealed, also allowing you to carry another primary weapon on your back. While the 12 inventory slots are quite a bit for such a compact gun, being able to carry two long arms is quite a good thing. Currently, removing the attachments for the weapon (as well as attachments that are naturally found attached to the weapon) do not decrease space in your inventory.
