Standard issue rifle for U.S. forces since the Vietnam war. Accurate and lightweight, though lacking in effective range. Due to the length of the weapon, it is awkward to use indoors. This variant is equipped with the M203 single-shot 40mm grenade launcher. Using the M203's leaf sight, grenades can be accurately put on target even up to 200 meters away.
If you don't plan on using the M203 frequently, it is usually better to use the standard M16A2. The M203 variant has very poor iron sights that many players find difficult and impractical to use, especially in CQB.
The M16A2 in DayZ cannot be zeroed, unlike its real-world counterpart.
