Used to gas up vehicles, such as cars, boats and helicopters.
Jerry Cans use up 3 inventory slots and are known to be found in farm- (barns, sheds, stables) and industrial buildings. Possible bug: as of 1.7.2.4 jerry cans only use 1 item slot in the vehicle items slot
Jerry cans are found full. To refill the can you must find a large fuel cylinder normally found within a few meters of a gas pump. The individual pumps themselves serve no purpose. Some gas stations do not have these large fuel tanks but are still marked on the map, so it's a good idea to scout ahead first and know which station you're going to. There are also many locations on the map where these tanks can be found that are not gas stations.
A good strategy for using vehicles is to collect many jerry cans and to fill them and then store them inside your vehicle so that if you need gas you can fill up anywhere.
Each Jerry can contains 20 litres of fuel.
Filling each vehicle completely takes:
- ATV/Motorcycle: 30 Litres
- Boats: 100 Litres
- Jeep/Car/Pickup: 200 Litres
- Helicopter: 1000 Litres
