Note: this page covers the Standalone version of DayZ; for information on the Mod, see Mod:BK-43. Template:Weapon Template The IZH-43 is a Russian, double-barreled side-by-side shotgun that was created during the Second World War. It is reasonably powerful, using the common 12 gauge caliber makes it quite a popular shotgun among farmers and civilians alike who cannot afford higher-end weapons. A sawed-off version of the IZH-43 exists as well.
- Sawed-off IZH-43 can be crafted from IZH-43 using a hacksaw .
- You can switch to shooting from both barrels by pressing T.
Strategy
As with any shotgun, it is always best to use the IZH-43 at close range, although slug shells will exceptionally increase said range. The IZH-43 is perfect early on, as it is a relatively common find and 12 Gauge ammo is not rare either, and it is also very powerful in close quarters. However, the weapon is heavily hindered by the two-round capacity and the long-length (Making use indoors dangerous).
