The Crossbow is a type of ranged weapon, consisting of a bow mounted on a stock, which shoots bolts. The crossbow is a quiet weapon, effective in close ranges, capable of killing survivors and zombies instantly with a headshot, while body shots take 2-3.
The Crossbow can only hold a single bolt at a time, although a quiver can be equipped with it, increasing that number up-to five. Recovering bolts can be difficult and bolts cannot be recovered from dead bodies or the ground, so make every shot count.
Sight attachments can be mounted on the crossbow, to increase its effective range. It can accept most of the M4A1's sights and optics, that is any optic that can attach to a 20mm picatinny rail, even though the rail featured on top of the weapon to the rear of the bolt firing mechanism before the rear iron sight and above the trigger is an 5/8" weaver rails. This will be changed in the future

Trivia
- The Crossbow is based on the real life modern compound crossbow. Crossbow first major usage originates in China around 600 BCE. Although they see very little use in modern militaries, crossbows are still used for hunting and recreational target shooting. Modern crossbows can be mounted onto rifle receivers, allowing accessories such as optical sights to be easily added.
- Crossbow bolts are currently not craftable, but there are plans to add craftable bolts in the future.
