The M16A2 is an American assault rifle. It entered US service in the 1980s and replaced the Vietnam-era M16A1. It has since been replaced by the M4A1, but is still used by some units within the US Armed Forces, and is used by many NATO-Friendly countries.

The M16A2 is a common and effective weapon. It can be found in Fire stations and Barracks with relative ease. It is much more accurate than the M4A1 carbine, and instead of the M4A1's fully automatic firing mode, it features a 3-round burst setting. It's good accuracy, high rate of fire and decent damage output make it a great all-purpose weapon, though the more-modular M16A4 should be taken over it, as it can accept more attachments than the M16A2.
The M16A2 Does around 3300 damage per round at close range. This is obviously a disadvantage while going up against a AK-47M, which does 4500 damage, and the M16A2 is also far longer than the AK-47M and M4A1, making it less suited to close-range encounters. But at longer ranges, the M16A2's 5.56mx45mm round's higher velocity and superior sights will give the M16A2 an advantage over both the M4A1 and AK-47M. It is effective out to 400m, though further shots may be possible.
The M16A2 can only accept one attachment: The M203 grenade launcher. When fitted, the entire front hand-guard is replaced by a new, "Scar-Face" style hand-guard.

The M16A2 Accepts 30Rnd STANAG magazines and their SD Variants. It will NOT accept G36 Magazines, though they can be re-combined[[1]] into STANAG magazines.
