Bolt is a type of Crossbow ammunition in DayZ. It is a manufactured bolt with a modern steel broadhead tip for big-game hunting.
Gameplay[ | ]
A pristine Bolt can be shot 12 times before becoming ruined. The Crossbow is a very good weapon to silently kill zombies with. Unlike suppressed weapons, the crossbow does not aggro Infected while shooting. The Bolt can be used to effectively clear dangerous areas, such as military zones, without aggroing infected even at long distances. It can also one shot players up to 60 meters, assuming they arent wearing protective equipment. If hit by a bolt it is possible to remove it by bandaging, allowing yourself to use the same bolt.
